+ What is Cache for Trash?
Cache for Trash is an opportunity for community members who visit the Rosewood Nature Study Area to contribute to the stewardship of the wetlands while also engaging in a fun outdoor recreation activity called ‘geocaching’
Take a bucket and trash picker from the front desk on your walk, fill it up, and return it in exchange for some super secret GPS coordinates leading you to a treasure!
This opportunity is open to any visitor to the Rosewood Nature Study Area during times when the Visitor Center is open. No training is required
+ Responsibilities
- Removing trash from along the trails in our wetland
- Returning all equipment to the front desk
- Checking in and checking out
+ Qualifications
- Ability to carry a 5 gallon bucket and trash picker
- Ability bend and stretch to pick up trash with the aid of a trash picker
- Capable of walking on slightly uneven surfaces
+ Goals
- The goal of ‘Cache for Trash’ is to allow all visitors to Rosewood Nature Study Area the opportunity to contribute to its stewardship, as well as introduce participants to geocaching as an outdoor recreational activity.

- Grant Writer: Submit grant applications to secure funding as requested by the Resource Committee
