Anti-Human Trafficking RISE Volunteer for

RISE HOTLINE
Our human trafficking hotline operates 24/7 which requires the support of our dedicated volunteers. This is not a public-facing hotline. Volunteers answer this hotline during Signs of HOPE business hours, after hours, on weekends, and on holidays.RISE hotline duties:
- Answering hotline calls that come directly from trained service providers.
- While volunteering, you will gain experience in the field responding alongside law enforcement on scene or to locations where a human trafficking victim has been identified.
- Helping the client with immediate crisis services as well as safety planning and setting the client up with one of our case managers for long-term support.
- May also include outreach such as handing out resources in the community with the RISE team.
- Must be able to volunteer after SOH hours, on weekends, and on holidays.
- Volunteers need to be able to commit to a minimum of eight (8) hours a month.
- Must be 21 years or older.
RISE LANGUAGE SPECIALIST
This new volunteer opportunity supports our RISE hotline and outreach efforts. We are looking for volunteers who are bilingual and feel comfortable translating for our RISE team.RISE Language Specialist duties:
- Accompany our RISE team when doing in-person responses to provide language interpretation services to clients.
- Must be bilingual in order to volunteer for this project.
- The greatest language needs are for languages other than Spanish, especially Tagalog and Mandarin. However, we encourage you to apply if you have any additional language skills.
- Must be 21 years or older.

Studies have shown that Veterans who have no one to check on them are more likely to be seen often in the Emergency Room and could suffer from mental health issues because they are lonely.

Established in 1965, the St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility provides nutritious meals to men, women, and children in need every day of the year. This meal is free and open to the public.
Volunteers are needed to hand out water, serve food, clear trays, and clean tables.

The docent vip position is for someone who is willing to participate/help with everything that is needed. They take on the Visitor center, environmental leader and inspirer role. This person is someone who is a passionate steward of the environment and supporter of GBI programming at Galena.
This June we will be handling our operation the same as we have been the last few months . We are asking that the food be dropped off between 4:00 and 4:15 so that we can start boxing up by 4:30. We have to keep our number down inside and this only allows two people from each group to stay (if they would like to )and help us box the food up. We understand that your jobs are essential and your health is very important to us . Therefor we are prepared to box the food up and serve it ourselves as well. Thank you very much for all you do for us . We can’t wait to have everyone back inside to help feed those less fortunate in the downtown Henderson area . We are very grateful for all of you and all that you provide for our guests that are in need of Friends In The Desert.
We are in need of extra cases of bottles of water during this time and small bottles of sunblock. Thank you

Follow these steps to register to volunteer at an event:
- Create an account in the FIRST Dashboard at firstinspires.org - sign up is located in the top right corner of the page
- Click the Volunteer Registration tab & choose ‘Volunteer at an Event’.
- Filter events by location / program and select an event.
- Choose up to five roles and apply.
- Complete your required youth protection background screening (US). When checking out, please select “not at this time” for FIRST support of your screening fees.
- Running the front desk
- Answering the door
- Checking in clients
- Scheduling appointments and answering phones
- Volunteers may also be given special tasks working alongside one of our staff members on a needed project. Projects may include help with filing, organizing and inventorying supply rooms, and social media.
