Description

This summer position is a 300 hour, 40 hours a week for 10 weeks. Schedule is Mon.-Fri. 8:00 am-4:00 pm Hours and days may vary. Summer Naturalist will deliver and assist with planning, coordination, and outreach of all Nevada Outdoor School educational programs including field trips, summer camps, special events, classroom lessons, and Outdoor Ethics in Elko and and surrounding areas. Training will be offered to the member and CPR training. Selected candidate will receive a stipend $1229.16 per month and upon successfully completion the member will receive an Education Award $1,289.95.

Activity types

The Summer Naturalist will provide plan and facilitate successful summer camp programs, deliver Outdoor Ethics programming to schools and at special events, plan and teach all activities for weekend volunteer stewardship projects, assist , gather/obtain and keep tidy all necessary educational supplies. Enter participant numbers into database and help to compile monthly direct results reporting, assist with development and utilize needs assessment tools and/or evaluations, promote Nevada Outdoor School's educational program through various forms of media - via media, assist in recruiting volunteers for educational programs as required, assist in recruiting youth for elective programs, attend training, seminars and/or conferences related to service objectives and career, development, participate in NOS community and special events.
