AmeriCorps Members are required to complete 675 - 900 hours of service for a 9 month commitment from September 2021 - May 2022 serving at one the ReInvent Las Vegas Elementary Schools. AmeriCorps Members will serve as Success Mentors providing academic and social-emotional supports to K-5 students at one of 16 elementary schools. Members will work with students both during the school day and in after-school programming. Members will provide in-class support, ensure students receive the individualized instruction when needed, and provide homework assistance both during and after-school. Required hours are five days a week and approximately 22.5 - 30 hours per week (depending on the position accepted). While the majority of service hours are completed onsite during school hours, members will engage in additional professional and community development meetings and/or projects, which may take place during evening or weekend hours.
