Success Mentor – ReInvent Schools Las Vegas

The ReInvent Schools Las Vegas AmeriCorps program’s vision is to improve academic excellence for every child by creating a strong collective culture among students, families, and educators to ensure academic achievement and lifelong success for every child.

AmeriCorps Members are required to complete 675 - 900 hours of service for a 9 month commitment from September 2020 - May 2021 serving at one the ReInvent Las Vegas Elementary Schools. AmeriCorps Members will serve as Success Mentors providing academic and social-emotional supports to K-5 students at one of 14 elementary schools. Members will work with students both during the school day and in after-school programming. Members will provide in-class support, ensure students receive the individualized instruction when needed, and provide homework assistance both during and after-school. Required hours are five days a week and approximately 22.5 - 30 hours per week (depending on the position accepted). While the majority of service hours are completed onsite during school hours, members will engage in additional professional and community development meetings and/or projects, which may take place during evening or weekend hours.
