Ways to help | Pantry Receiver and StockerThe Pantry Stocker stocks and keeps the pantry shelves full for clients to shop on pantry days. Assists in carrying donations into pantry, weighs and records donation in the records-keeping system. Organizes and sorts through donations, stock and keeps pantry shelves full for clients. Tracks expiration dates and removes expired items. Monitors pantry areas for cleanliness and order, and helps clients carry out items out if needed.Janitor and GroundskeeperThe Janitor/Groundskeeper helps keep LSSN looking clean, professional, and ready to help serve our clients. General cleaning activities may include mopping, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming and general up-keep of the facility. Disposal of trash in offices, restrooms, kitchen, and outside areas is also expected.Group/Business VolunteeringGroup volunteer opportunities include organizing the pantry, helping at our open air food markets, hosting food/backpack/toy/clothing drives, and assisting with special events.Office/Admin AssistantIndividual tasks will be provided to the Admin Assistant/Office Assistant who will work under the supervision of the Executive Director, Finance Manager, or Program Director. Duties can include making copies, answering phones, light data entry, filing, research and potential for other duties depending on activities/programs. Compiling statistics, researching fundraising opportunities, and investigating potential grant programs are also available.Facilities AttendantThe Facilities Attendant is ideally a handyman with general knowledge of facility management. Time to time LSSN needs basic repair services, which are very costly and could be avoided with the help of a committed volunteer. |

About us | A dedicated group of local volunteers started LSSN many years ago by providing food and clothing to our community members. It has since grown to become a grassroots organization known for its diverse services. LSSN serves persons of all demographics such as, low-income, at-risk of homelessness, homeless, families with or without children, youth, veterans, people with disabilities, and senior citizens. We offer comprehensive social services such as homeless prevention and rapid rehousing, online grocery style food pantry, massive food distribution, nutrition education classes and live cooking demonstrations, senior citizen meal services, homeless prevention and rapid rehousing, mainstream benefits applications, and other safety net services. |
