Description

With the direction of the President and Board of Trustees, the Community Engagement and Marketing Coordinator VISTA will develop volunteer-based projects centered on activities that grow membership and the capacity of Lahontan Audubon Society (LAS) as a whole by leveraging community members to assist with LAS programs. This person will manage volunteers through the recruitment process and provide volunteer trainings, as well as expand opportunities for volunteer engagement and other outreach events. This VISTA will serve as the primary contact for all LAS volunteers and will be responsible for communicating and regularly engaging with volunteers to improve volunteer recruitment, training, management, and retention. The Community Engagement and Marketing Coordinator VISTA will develop a marketing and outreach plan that enhances the advertising and outreach strategies used to promote LAS programs and events via social media, PR, and streamlined website design.

Activity types

Expand the Lahontan Audubon Society (LAS) volunteer recruitment, training, and management program; Develop, refine, and update volunteer training protocols for the LAS programs and events; Create a public awareness campaign centered on volunteer recruitment and retention; Conduct outreach with an emphasis on underserved, low-income, and/or marginalized communities; Create a schedule for volunteers to promote LAS programs and mission; Create and maintain a volunteer appreciation and retention plan; Write press releases, manage social media (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Meetup) and secure media partners; Organize task forces/coalitions; Create flyers, brochures and other marketing, educational and promotional materials.
