Our mission | To engage, empower, enrich, and advance the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, allies and queer community of Henderson, NV by providing a safe space, pursue resources and providing courses focus on educational, social, support, skill building and job assistance classes for at-risk, low-income LGBTQ youth and adults. |

Our board | The board member responsible for marketing and events brings to the organization deep and broad experience in the oversight of marketing and events that produce immediate and direct results for an organization’s bottom line. This board member should both be able to roll up their sleeves, but also is able to see the big picture of the impact of marketing and events. |

Requirements | As part of my responsibilities as a board member:• I will interpret the organization's work and values to the community, represent the organization, and act as a spokesperson.• I will attend at least 75% of board meetings, committee meetings, and special events.• I will actively participate in one or more fundraising activities.• I will act in the best interests of the organization, and excuse myself from discussions and votes where I have a conflict of interest.• I will stay informed about what's going on in the organization. I will ask questions and request information.• I will participate in and take responsibility for making decisions on issues, policies and other board matters.• I will work in good faith with staff and other board members as partners towards achievement of our goals.• If I don't fulfill these commitments to the organization, I will expect the board president to call me and discuss my responsibilities with me. |
