Volunteer opportunities include tradesmen, data entry, sales, logistic assistants, acquisitions and interior designers to help teach life skills to SNTR residents.

Volunteers bring history to life at the Center’s outdoor wagon encampment while wearing pioneer clothing. The opportunities are endless, from Dutch oven cooking to performing pioneer tunes on a fiddle. Demonstrations may also take place in the Trail Center lobby. Examples include, but are not limited to: spinning, weaving, quilting, doll making and gunsmithing.

If you’re interested in volunteering off the slopes, we are seeking skills in: marketing/fundraising, accounting, IT, photography/video production, social media, writing and program coordination.

Hospitals and clinics are welcome to join our network so that we know whom to call when we have a case in your community. In addition, we are looking for volunteer veterinarians and tech assistants to go to places where the homeless congregate and administer veterinary care to pets of the homeless.

The shop constantly needs to be improved upon. If you have a skill or trade like plumbing, carpentry, electrical, etc. we can probably use your assistance. If you would like to volunteer your services in such a way please contact us and we will find a job for you.

We can always use help wrenching. Experienced mechanics that have a well-rounded knowledge of bikes are a great help during open hours or during classes, and volunteering will teach you how to teach others. If you’re interested in becoming a wrench but don’t know much yet, we’ll teach you here!

We are always on the lookout for motivated community members to become a part of our Board of Directors. The Board consists of individuals from many different backgrounds and experiences, which helps us move towards our goal of supporting and maintaining Austin’s House and its vision.

Like any home, Austin’s House needs maintenance of our lawn, backyard, and house. If you or your organization would like to donate muscle power for maintenance services, please call and speak with us.

Want to get more involved than the drop in days allow? Volunteers help with the upkeep at the Urban Teaching Farm at Renown on the corner of 2nd and Gould. You will work with Urban Roots staff to maintain hoop houses, landscaping, irrigation, planting, or harvesting. Have a carpentry background? Know a lot of vermicompost?…
