How you helpOur ongoing volunteer opportunity runs August through May. Each Wednesday morning volunteers meet at our office and help prepare the weekend take home bags for the children. We start at 9:15 and the process takes less than an hour. Food for Thought has a monthly food item donation opportunity. Our item of the month can be found on our social media sites as well as via email. For additional or special events opportunities we encourage you to request to be added to our volunteer mailing list. Monetary donations are always welcome no amount is to small. Donations can be made on our website using the donate now button.
About usIn November 2006, Rebecca Rund, PTA member, and Brenda Kizor, school counselor, established Fritsch Friends, a pilot program to discreetly and directly provide weekly bags of food for the school’s neediest children. Thanks to the support from our community and incredible volunteers, we have grown into an independent, nonprofit organization, Food for Thought, Inc.™ Today we serve 16 schools in our community.
