The Discovery offers customized, staff-level internships to qualified college students and recent graduates. Internships at The Discovery are unpaid, but the experience is well worth your time. You are placed with enthusiastic mentors, who will help you develop future job skills and discover the inner workings of a world-class, hands-on science museum.
Organizations and groups are an essential part of The Discovery’s volunteer team. Group volunteer projects are a great way to make a big impact in a short amount of time at here at the museum. We offer both ongoing and one-time projects for highly engaged groups and their interests.
Logistical Firefighters will respond to incidents and serve on the front line at wildland fire incidents. They perform vital water supply operations, support major incident by managing equipment needs and other resource requirements.
Support Volunteers don’t have to respond to emergencies, yet they are responsible for helping to make sure our stations and equipment are always ready. From training, public outreach and maintenance, Support Volunteers have many critical roles to fill. With minimal training, you can become an integral part of our organization.

Volunteers enable the children and adults to talk about the things they can’t talk about at school or with peers. It is the volunteers in each group that provide safety for the children and families to share their grief.
