Administrative volunteers provide valuable office and clerical support. Duties include filing, word processing, mailings, distribution of printed materials, research and data input.
Hospitality volunteers assist with the staffing of numerous Museum events. From regularly scheduled events such as First Thursday, Second Saturday and other Museum events, volunteer duties include checking in registered guests, coat check, set up and tear down, and greeting and directing guests.
Docents host guided tours and workshops about the exhibitions and collections. Tours are given daily to a large range of groups who vary in age and interest. Specialized training and a love of public speaking is required to become be in the docent program.
The Center for Art + Environment Research Library & Archives is staffed by volunteers with duties that include greeting and assisting guests and working on special projects.

Responsibilities can include being a race marshal, registration, cleanup, etc. Volunteers usually need to be available from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Mother’s Day.

Residential Expansion/ Improvement Projects are great for 12-15 volunteers. Volunteers will assist with service projects that focus on improving NPHY’s housing facilities. Projects available may vary, but can include assisting us with assembling bunk beds and rearranging the client’s Independent Living and Emergency Shelter condos, painting projects, property maintenance/organization projects, beautification/restoration projects, and more.
