What does it take to be a literacy tutor? The ability to read, write and speak English, compassion for others, and patience. Tutor training takes one hour of personal training at your convenience.

The Beautification Committee’s role is to develop the physical and visual assets of the commercial district where it seeks to capitalize on it’s best assets. It works to develop better downtown lighting, cleaning and maintenance, landscaping and flower planting, way-finding signage, and display kiosks.

The Marketing and Promotions Committee’s role is to develop the social assets of the commercial district by selling a positive image of the district and encouraging consumers to work, shop, play and invest in the district. Some examples of events include: Cocktail Bingo, Downtown Crawls, Halloween Trick or Treat, and Holiday Lighting Ceremony.

The Economic Development Committee’s role is to strengthen the community’s existing economic assets while expanding and diversifying it’s economic base through business retention, expansion and recruitment. Programs include: Business Retention Program, Future Development, Paid Parking, Sidewalk Improvements, and Loan Programs.
