Responsibilities can include being a race marshal, registration, cleanup, etc. Volunteers usually need to be available from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Mother’s Day.
The Junior Coach program is a great way to earn required community service hours for school while having fun and helping younger participants develop their golf and life skills. Students 14 years and older are encouraged to participate in the Junior Coach program. Junior Coaches can also be participants in The First Tee programs.
Help out with our events such as the Lucky Duck Family Festival, Swing for the Kids Golf Tournament, and Breakfast with Santa. Volunteers help set-up, tear-down, registration, and more.
Facility Crew members help maintain our nearly 6-acre ranch! Responsibilities can include but are not limited to, cleaning our building, weeding, maintaining fences, ranch repairs, etc.
Side Walkers walk alongside participants as they ride. The purpose of a Side Walker is to help keep the rider safe and assist their participation.
Horse Handlers guide horses while clients ride by leading or long-lining. A Horse Handler grooms, tacks and handles the horse during the therapy session or adaptive riding lesson.
Equine Crew volunteers may help with turning-out horses, preparing horse lunches, feeding, manure pick-up, etc. Horse experience required.
Provide office support to Great Basin Outdoor School
This volunteer will aid Nevada Volunteers in our efforts to inform all Nevadans about the power of volunteering and National Service. Tasks will include translating public forms and flyers into Spanish.
Junior Volunteers assist the staff with specific needs. Examples include, but are not limited to, photography, taking inventory, poster creation, letter writing for Wish Kids, scrapbook design, binder assembly, special events, speaking engagements, and participating in our Kids for Wish Kids program.
