This level of volunteering is for an individual who is or will become CIT trained and is volunteering moderately with Live Violence Free. This level means that the individual is volunteering 10-20 hours a month, either directly with clients or indirectly.

Nevada Outreach provides the following programs to help individuals with problems in:  Elder Abuse; Domestic/Sexual Violence; Forensic Interviews for children who have been sexually/physically abused; Family Prevention activities in Parenting and Co-Parenting classes; Anger Management, Independent Skills classes and Budgeting classes; Healthlink to sign up for health insurance; and a family Resource Center. To support the senior services that promote healthy, independent, active and safe lifestyles, as well as increase volunteer opportunities for education and advocacy by and for elders.

Our need is especially great during March/April and October/November when we run most of our Games. It’s a fun way to be involved!

Service opportunities include: Delivering Food, Running Errands, Packing care packages, or Making welfare checks.

To work with community members experiencing crisis, our volunteers must complete Crisis Intervention Training (CIT). We offer a 69-hour training in the spring and fall to provide community members with tools needed to help those experiencing domestic/intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.

We are actively looking for passionate youth and adults to help with our community mobilization efforts as it relates to violence prevention in the Truckee community.

Join us as a trusted volunteer in one of our four program areas: Hunger Relief, Crisis Intervention & Prevention, Family Support & Community Engagement, and Mediation & Legal Assistance.

Volunteers from beginners to Master Gardeners, from ages 10-100 with smiling faces are encouraged to come work with us for an hour or a day. Tasks range from harvesting vegetables for donations, pruning flowers, planting seeds, transplanting seedlings and site maintenance to helping to organize our fundraising events.

Hospice volunteers are a unique gift to the hospice and to the patients. Volunteers commit to holding the hand of a patient when they are alone, laughing with patients and loved ones during moments of reminiscence and providing a shoulder to cry on when caregivers need support or patients need a friend.
