The Practical Needs Service Team exists to serve our church body by caring for others in tangible ways. This may include one-time project needs, moving assistance, or small household tasks. Our vision is to see members of our church body serve each other and build each other up. If you are looking for a service…
A group of ladies using their talents and gifts creating quilts that are used to encourage others. The knots that hold the quilt together represent the prayers and concerns of our church family for those who receive it.
Book preparation events are held regularly each week. Preparing 52,000 books per month is a task that can only be accomplished with the help of dedicated volunteers. Volunteers are also needed to help scan books.
Youth groups, churches, business and service organizations, or individuals can host events and donate the proceeds to Austin’s House. Some examples of past events include: bake sales, car washes, ice cream socials, sidewalk business events, raffles, garage sales, fashion show, craft fairs, poker run, and children’s birthday parties.
We are always on the lookout for motivated community members to become a part of our Board of Directors. The Board consists of individuals from many different backgrounds and experiences, which helps us move towards our goal of supporting and maintaining Austin’s House and its vision.
Like any home, Austin’s House needs maintenance of our lawn, backyard, and house. If you or your organization would like to donate muscle power for maintenance services, please call and speak with us.
Volunteers lend helping hands during special events. You can help with the planning, help us set up or take down, lead an activity, greet guest or more! Besides being great fun, these events are critical for the community contact and fundraising capabilities of Urban Roots.
