To work with community members experiencing crisis, our volunteers must complete Crisis Intervention Training (CIT). We offer a 69-hour training in the spring and fall to provide community members with tools needed to help those experiencing domestic/intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.

We are actively looking for passionate youth and adults to help with our community mobilization efforts as it relates to violence prevention in the Truckee community.

GTSF typically hosts two to four distribution events per month during the calendar school year. All individual volunteer registration with our organization is done through a digital portal which is featured in each volunteer call email. For a number of years, a group of about 25 Rotarians volunteer in the Magical Forest one evening early in December. Volunteers spend around four and a half hours at the event commitment during which they help load and unload trains, run the merry-go-round, sell drinks and treats, take tickets and act as crossing guards.…
