300 hours, full-time position. Monday-Friday 8 am-4 pm, days and hours may vary. Selected candidates will receive a stipend $1229.16 per month and upon successfully completion the member will receive an Education Award $1,311.11. The Wilderness Monitoring Technician will assist Friends of Nevada Wilderness and the US Forest Service, Carson Ranger District in collecting Wilderness use data for the Mt Rose Wilderness and performing outreach and education to Forest visitors. This is an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy hiking, are looking to start a career in conservation or public lands management, or want to spend their summer working in the Wilderness.
