Pink Ribbon Sunday and Friend to Friend

Our volunteers have reached thousands of women at the grassroots level with our programs. Our breast cancer goal conforms to that of the Dept of Health and Human Services’ Healthy People 2020: To reduce the number of illnesses, disability, and death caused by breast cancer by reducing the number of late-stage breast cancers and increasing the number of women who participate in early detection practices and breast self-awareness. We believe in education, awareness and survivor support, especially in low-income and high-risk communities. Our Breast Cancer Awareness Outreach Volunteer Project was implemented in 2016 to raise awareness, provide education, promote early detection, and serve as a resource for women on breast cancer issues.

Initiated in 2016 as a sub-project under the breast cancer awareness project, B & A’s “Pink Ribbon Sunday” mammography and early detection awareness campaign invites local churches to have an awareness and educational event at their church or religious institution. Our Friend to Friend Program seeks to reach women in senior and public housing with our early detection message.  More information can be found at our website: www.baent-services.org.
