Our mission | Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions provides a modern, free-roaming adoption center to minimize the stress experienced by homeless cats and optimize the opportunity for adoption. When owners are no longer able to care for their pets, we offer an alternative to taking them to a shelter or leaving them on the street. |

Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions
About us | Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions (Homeward Bound) is a smaller, cat-only rescue organization that provides an essential safety net to vulnerable cats in the greater Las Vegas Valley (population 2.2 million). Founded in 2007, we have been primarily foster-based until 2019, when we moved into a 2,400 square foot adoption center allowing us to provide care for more cats, enhance public visitation and increase the number of adoptions. We work with families who need to rehome their cats, and TNR groups to find homes for kittens and friendly adults that might otherwise be returned to the streets. We also help domesticated community cats who have likely been abandoned outside or turned into shelters as strays and released on the street to avoid unnecessary euthanasia. For nearly 12 years, we have been a sustainable, small organization, relying almost entirely on volunteers to fulfill our mission. In 2019, we were able to open an adoption center, increasing our capacity for care and adoptions. We designed a modern, free-roaming center where both cats and people can relax in a home-like environment that is more comfortable than a typical shelter. We provide a greater opportunity to match the right cat with the right family and offer lifetime support through our Cat Help Desk, a resource center for adopters and anyone seeking help to make the right decisions on behalf of cats. |
