Ways to help

Other Volunteering

Others opportunities to help include transporting dogs, searching the shelters, processing applications, evaluating prospective families, answering phone messages, updating the database, maintaining our website, manning the event booths, writing thank you notes…..the list goes on and on! In addition, we are fortunate to have the support of veterinarians all over the valley, as well as help from professional trainers, doggie daycare facilities and groomers, everyone plays an important role in the big picture.

Forever Fosters

GRRSN will care for any dog that comes to us, regardless of age or health issues. Some dogs come to us very late in life, or with health issues that may be hard for an adoptive family to afford. Wonderful families open their hearts and homes to these dogs, while GRRSN assumes financial responsibility for the rest of their days. Forever Foster dogs don’t know how old they are or whether or not they are sick. They still have so much to offer and we feel that they deserve the same loving, forever families and homes that all dogs do.

Volunteer Dog Sitting

The GRRSN Dog Sitting Service has been designed to provide short term (1 day to 2 weeks), personal care for dog(s) in the home of one of our GRRSN members. If you have been unable to volunteer as a Foster Family for our rescued Golden Retrievers, volunteering as a Dog Sitter may be an alternative that will allow you to participate in GRRSN on a more convenient basis.

How you help GRRSN is an all volunteer, organization that has rescued over 2,150 Golden Retrievers and other dogs in need. We are thankful for the families that have opened their hearts and homes to these beautiful animals and given them the second chance they deserved.
About us Golden Retriever Rescue Southern Nevada (GRRSN) was established in 2003 by a group of volunteers who had a common bond….the love of these amazing and gentle creatures, and the devotion to help and re-home as many neglected, abused and displaced dogs as possible. Golden Retrievers that come into the care of GRRSN may be turned over by animal shelters, picked up as strays, or in most cases, turned in by their owners. Dogs also become homeless due to death or illness of their owners, divorce, allergies, or relocation. Thankfully, GRRSN has never had to turn any dog in need away due to age or health reasons. Dogs are housed in private foster homes located throughout Southern Nevada while they await adoption.
