Ways to help | Skill-Builder VolunteerDo you have a skill you can’t wait to share? Want to help foster talent through awesome skills like coding, carpentering, or changing a tire? Skill-based volunteers are needed for troop presentations, on-site mentorship, or advising activities.Troop Startup GuideMake a BIG impact with this short-term commitment. You’ll be teamed up with a new troop leader to support a troop’s first six meetings to get them up and running. After 6 meetings, you’re done!Camp/Seasonal VolunteerHelp girls explore nature and find the fun outdoors.Bilingual Bridge VolunteerBilingual volunteers are needed to assist families with interpretation and translation to be involved in the Girl Scout program. Interpretation may be needed for events, trainings, in-person meetings, or phone calls. Translation services may also be needed for program-related forms and documents.Outreach VolunteerHelp us ensure that Girl Scouting is available to ALL girls by supporting troops in at-risk or underserved communities.Troop Leader/Co-LeaderWork with a group of girls and mentor them as they make new friends and develop connections that will last a lifetime.Cookie VolunteerCoordinate the annual Cookie Program at the troop level. Set up cookie booths, manage inventory and money, and then watch the girls light up when they earn the rewards for being the best cookie sellers ever!Troop Family and FriendsAssist with driving, activity planning, snacks, money management, or other tasks necessary to keep the troop running oh-so-smoothly from week to week.Service Unit VolunteerMentor adult volunteers as they work with Girl Scouts to create memories they will never forget.Event Support VolunteerDo you enjoy events like the Reno Balloon Races, Artown, and Hot August nights? Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada is in need of volunteers to help recruit girls at local community events. Event volunteers can assist with table set up, guest assistance and registration, or clean up. Volunteers may also choose to be involved in event planning. Assistance may also be need at local school events to provide child care activities for potential Girl Scout members.Office Champ VolunteerGirl Scouts is in need of office volunteers to assist in the daily service operation of supporting more than 5,000 Girl Scout members. Office tasks may include answering phones, filing paperwork, organizing materials, and any other administrative tasks as needed.Episodic VolunteerNot sure how you want to help? Become an episodic volunteer and get notifications when extra help is needed. Episodic volunteers may help with one event a year, a monthly activity, or in an area that is of special interest.Learning FacilitatorDeliver a variety of adult learning opportunities from troop leadership to outdoor skills and everything in-between. You might be an experienced leader who wants to share their experience and expertise, or someone who is brand new to Girl Scouts and has a passion for ensuring that girls and adults are having a fun, successful experience. |
