How you helpKesem’s mission of supporting children through and beyond a parent’s cancer could not be realized without the time, energy, and dedication of our incredible nationwide volunteer network. From providing strategic planning support to delivering hands-on programming facilitation, volunteers provide invaluable assistance.
About us5 million children are coping with a parent's cancer diagnosis. That’s 5 million children at risk of experiencing increased anxiety, emotional isolation, loss of social interest, and/or feelings of hopelessness. We support these children through and beyond their parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled creative programs and a lasting community. Passionate college students lead our community. Working alongside alumni and supporters, they create experiences and connections where these children can process, connect, heal, and thrive. For many of the children and our volunteers, Kesem is a life-changing experience that spans far beyond a week at summer camp. It fosters bonds and understanding that builds resilience, confidence, and lasting feelings of hope and joy. That's the magic of Kesem.
