Board Member – Program

Our missionAt Girls on the Run, we inspire ALL girls to build confidence and make intentional decisions, while fostering care and compassion for self and others.
Our boardOur mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.  It is rewarding, important work as we strive towards a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Our board provides governance, guidance, and both physical and financial support to achieve our goals.
PositionGirls on the Run Las Vegas is looking for new board members to help us as we launch our biggest year to date. After a year of only virtual programming, we are resuming in-person programming this fall along with our 5K Community Celebrations.  We need assistance in all areas and are looking to diversify the perspectives on our Board.

DonationWe require a specific amount of “give or get” for all board members.
RequirementsBoard members must be at least 18 years old.Board meetings occur on the 3rd Thursday of the month, with Committee Meetings occurring on those nights when Board meetings are not scheduled. Board members are expected to serve on a committee and/or in a officer position. The three stranding committees are Internal Growth, External Communication, and Revenue Generation. In addition, there is a 5K Planning Committee on which board members may serve.Board members have a give/get requirement of $1000/year, prorated based on date of  initial service.
On-boardingNew Board members will meet with the Executive Director and the Board Chair. Additionally, they will be provided with online training from our parent organization, Girls on the Run International, and a handbook on our local council.
