Nevada Volunteers certifies second Service Enterprise organization in Nevada

RENO|LAS VEGAS, December 6, 2016 – Nevada Volunteers, the Governor’s commission on service, is pleased to announce Tahoe SAFE Alliance has achieved certification as a Service Enterprise, testifying to the fact that Tahoe SAFE Alliance has effective volunteer management processes in place. As a certified Service Enterprise Tahoe SAFE Alliance leverages volunteers and their skills to strengthen organizational capacity, better deliver on the organization’s social mission, and offer the volunteer a more fulfilling experience.

Nevada Volunteers presented Paul Bancroft, the Executive Director the Service Enterprise certification on November 23, 2016. Tahoe SAFE Alliance is Nevada’s fourth certified Service Enterprise and joins the national network of only 266 organizations certified as a Service Enterprise.

“Service Enterprise breathed new life into our existing volunteer program by challenging all our staff, not just the volunteer coordinator, in engaging volunteers as partners in the work we do” said Jessica Brown, Client Service and Prevention Program Director.

The cultural shift brought by the Service Enterprise process helped Tahoe Safe Alliance engage volunteers more effectively and strengthen organizational capacity. Through the Service Enterprise process, Tahoe SAFE Alliance’s Return on Volunteer Investment (ROVI) more than doubled. Tahoe SAFE Alliance’s Service Enterprise certification proves volunteer efforts are aligned with the mission of the organization and that volunteers are treated well and their skills are used effectively.

“Nevada Volunteers invests in supporting Nevada organizations in becoming Service Enterprises because we know that Service Enterprises effectively use volunteers and, hence, contribute positively to Nevada’s communities and volunteerism.” said Amber Martin-Jahn
