Thank you! There is a lot of information to impart about what it means to be a CASA. It is a truly unique volunteer experience. I invite you to attend one of our upcoming informational Zoom Coffees with CASA. It's <one hour of your time but will give you a thorough overview of what a CASA does, how important a role a CASA plays in a child's life, and what the commitment involves. Our next two Zoom "Coffees" are on Saturday, September 10th at 10:00am and Wednesday, September 21 at 12 noon. You may register to attend either of those by accessing our website: www.washoecasafoundation.com Coffee info is in the upper left-hand corner of the home page. I would also encourage you to peruse the website to familiarize yourself with CASA, especially the FAQ page. The work of a CASA isn't often easy, but it is so important and meaningful. We truly do make a profound difference in the lives of these children. I've been a CASA volunteer for over 25 years and it remains one of the most gratifying experiences of my life. If the two dates above aren't convenient for you, I'm also available to speak with you one-on-one. Please feel free to reach out to me at (775) 772-3506 or at sbn@nissenbaum.net. With about 800 abused and neglected children in foster care in Washoe County on any given day, and only about 100 CASA volunteers, that statistic says it all. Our community needs more CASA volunteers. Thank you for your interest and I look forward to meeting/speaking with you. Warm regards, ~Susan Nissenbaum On behalf of the Washoe CASA Foundation
