To give you an idea of how being a volunteer works, I want to explain the process. The first step in volunteering is an interview. After the interview process you will have to complete fingerprints and background check then, we begin training. Training will provide you the knowledge needed to work with clients at the office or in the shelter, answering crisis calls, and managing the needs of survivors while keeping yourself safe. We have three different areas where you can volunteer Crisis Line, Outreach and Shelter. Crisis Line volunteers would be at our office answering our hotline providing resources, referrals and information about our shelter process. Crisis line volunteers are in from Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Outreach Volunteers attend events in the community to bring awareness of our agency and services. With things opening up we are starting to get more tabling events that we will be partaking in the community. Shelter volunteers provide support to shelter residents with access to programs, educational materials, facilitating groups etc. Our shelter is confidential, volunteers are able to assist from Monday through Sunday from 9 am -6 pm. Please let me know your thoughts. If you are interested in volunteering we can set up a time to meet via zoom. Thank you, Diana
